Have you wondered how the Eagle Creek fire has affected local businesses? With the closure of Interstate 84 due to a fire that ran rampant over 48,000 acres, we have been worried about the local economy and have been asking ourselves this question.
The Hood River County Chamber of Commerce has put together some tools and a survey to help assess the impact. To all our beloved Oregon and Washington customers affected by the Eagle Creek Fire, take a minute to fill out the survey so that businesses can obtain funds to help cover the losses they may have sustained.
This is not the first time this area has been affected within the year. An ice storm closed down I-84 which stopped delivery trucks from getting to the businesses and consumers in town. With this being the second closure, we really want to help the local economy.
The rain has slowed down the fire and now businesses are ready to be opened. Let people know that as soon as the mop up is complete that they should come visit these areas to help spend money in these communities.
